Who exactly is being sentenced to 10 years in prison simply on an unsubstantiated accusation alone? No-one! This is a fantasy! Brock Turner had two eye-witnesses and he got six months and only served three. In the Steubenville case there was film of the crime. I’ve already supplied ample supports that demonstrate that even when there is a lot of physical evidence, confessions, and even photographs, the vast majority of perpetrators suffer few consequences.
Kavanaugh will not go to jail at all, even now that a second woman has come forward to accuse him. He will go on with his life and his job, with few repurcussions. Historically, the men who do this suffer no consequences at all. False accusations are not acceptable, but they are exceedingly rare. Continued abuse of women by both the men who attack them and the system that should support them is what is truly unacceptable.
I think it’s due to your own experience of being falsely accused but what I very clearly demonstrated is that nearly all of the men who are accused of rape and sexual assualt are not falsely accused. It’s not a baseline of presumed innocence. If you are accused by a woman who doesn’t have a known history of wild embellishment and falsification, she is almost certainly telling the truth. that was the point of my article.
