This is me also Pua. When I was younger I wore only solid colors and dressed to blend into the background as much as possible; to not stand out and be catcalled or followed on the street or stared at. Now I wear short skirts (even though I’m middle aged), sexy sandals, pink highlights in my hair, visible tattoos — it’s a way to own the sexual self that was scared into hiding in younger years. I dress for myself most of all and it feels like a way to heal the old wound — the witch wound, as you so aptly called it. There’s no more trying to blend into the background for me, but I understand how some women might go this way.
