There are no corresponding articles about toxic femininity because, although there are certainly plenty of things that women might do that are toxic, they tend to be more on the individual level. Feminine traits are nurturing, creative, tolerant, empathetic, intuitive, receptive and tender. Masculine traits are competitive, assertive, logical, self-reliant, analytical, and confident. Needless to say, most people are a blend and the more balanced the blend, the better. Masculine traits only become toxic when taken to an extreme (aggressive rather than assertive, cocky rather than confident, disconnected from others rather than self-reliant) and when they dismiss feminine traits as being weak or undesirable. Guys who get all up in arms about masculinity being attacked might want to take a look at whether they are actually defending healthy masculinity or merely becoming the ironic embodiment of what they are claiming doesn’t exist.
