The title of the original article: Do Humanity a Solid: Stop Using ‘Fat’ as an Insult. The point of it is, “fat” is used as an insult, primarily by men to shame women who do not fit into a physical standard they deem acceptable (which is not just arbitrarily selected by the fashion industry and gay men 🙄). It’s pretty much the worst thing that a man can say to a woman and most men know that when they say it. Look at how the guy in the White House often uses it as a primary way to disparage women. Look at all the other comments on this post from men trying to essentially defend their right to shame a woman who is not built like a model (even a Kate Upton style model).
This is the conversation that you voluntarily joined and then proceeded to try to add a bunch of tangitial stuff into. And you keep undermining your own previous statements with ones that run counter to them. Now you are saying that standards of beauty as relate to weight are mutable but that was the point that I made in which you first chimed in — so which is it? SMH!
