The idea was to probe how it has affected individual men, not society, but I do agree that whether or not those norms are a good fit for who you more naturally are is an indication of how someone might feel about them. For many men, they are fine, and that’s great. The problem arises when they aren’t such a good fit and there are negative consequences for that.

I thought it was interesting that two men talked about pressure coming from their mothers around what was expected of them.
