No-one is trying to legislate anyone’s behavior, but encouraging people away from that which is destructive to society at large is, most people would agree (at least in the abstract), valuable. This country and many others have a huge violence problem, and this is overwhelmingly a male violence problem, where men kill themselves and others routinely. So, you can argue that “agression is subjective” but that won’t help the 50% of female murder victims who are killed by their domestic partners or the one billion women who will be raped or beaten in their lifetime. It’s a strawman to pretend there is no real way to ascertain what is an acceptable level of aggression.

Being able to access a full range of human emotions (beyond anger, which is the only one deemed appropriate for men) does not mean histrionics. It means being a well-rounded human being. And don’t start in on that JP chaos bullshit because it really doesn’t fly.

Back on the topic of emotion, 9 times out of 10 when I’m debating a man, if he can’t find a way to refute the logic and statistics that I’m presenting, he resorts to full out emotion. I’ve talked with other women about this also, and many have the same experience. So, keep telling yourself that you are entirely rational and have no need for any level of feminine traits and the world will keep burning.

And by the way, bonobos, who are largely matriarchal, are our closest genetic relative, not lobsters.
