I’m sorry, but this is perfectly ludicrous. I own my body; not my husband and I will damn-well do with it what I want! What century are you in? I have no duties to him of any kind (just as he has no inherent duties to me). We are partners who co-create our lives together based on love and mutual respect which is why we’ve had such a happy and long-lasting relationship (30 years; 26 of those married).

70% of the time it is women who initiate divorce because of just this exact mind-set. In non-marital relationships break-ups are initiated equally by men and women. “Rosenfeld found, married women reported lower levels of relationship quality than married men. In contrast, women and men in non-marital relationships reported equal levels of relationship quality.

Rosenfeld said his results support the feminist assertion that some women experience heterosexual marriage as oppressive or uncomfortable.”

Weak men need to control the ones they love, and it ultimately damages their relationships. Not something to be proud of, by any stretch.
