I’m only now beginning to understand how widespread the “Good Guy” phenomenon is and how, despite daily news reports to the contrary, some men really don’t understand that any of this is much of an actual problem. At least some of the backlash to this ad comes from men like this who feel undeservedly criticized for a problem that they think isn’t really a problem. Meanwhile, from my perspective the ad is inviting men to co-create a better society for all and is only critical of those who are actually doing wrong.
