I’m glad you qualified yourself further at the end. Some women do tend to over-apologize, but this tendency I’ve been noticing to refuse to apologize when it’s clearly warranted is a break-down in civility and a sad by-product of living in a dominance hierarchy. I was in the process of writing an article about just that — how twice in the past week someone did something they really should have apologized for, but didn’t. They knew they were wrong and that they’d owed me one but were too either narcissistic or insecure to actually do it.
