I’m a sociologist and you are a guy who recognizes no objective metrics around anything related to society (except for the purported naturally ebbing of slavery well before the civil war, despite the fact that functional slavery still exists today in agricultural harvesting because it’s still such a viable economic model). So, one guy you read has an easily disprovable theory about slavery, and that counts for a lot, but hundreds of institutions, many whose main job is to study such things, all reach similar conclusions, and that counts for nothing?
