I think what he’s saying is that “touch escalation” is a thing that young men have been and still are acculturated to believe is acceptable, in part because for so long women have been acculturated to believe they should say no to start, even if they actually welcome the touch. This doesn’t excuse scenarios like the one described in the OP, but it certainly muddies the waters.

Holy hell! I just Googled touch escalation to try to find a good definition or some statistics and it was nothing but “how tos” from pick-up artists sites and the like! 😒
