I appreciate your comments and don’t doubt that in the world of Tinder that superficial characteristics are what catches the eye of most women. Tinder is after all, an initial impression thing, right? The problem with your analysis is that Tinder is not the real world (or even the only on-line dating world) and plenty of people who don’t fit the Chad profile find mates on a daily basis -both on and off of dating sites. All you have to do is to look out the window to see all types of people paired up. There is still plenty of opportunity for a nice, nerdy, guy with glasses to get dates. Tinder may not be the optimal spot, but it’s far from the only one available. My brother-in-law, who is a pretty average guy with some quirky Aspergers tendencies, met both his wives on-line.

Then there’s things like this, another example of someone who isn’t a Becky figuring out how to do just fine on Tinder. She’s got some good advice that would apply well to men also.

It’s also been widely noted that when someone suggests to an incel that they could hire an escort, they tend to become outraged. It’s not so much that they are really wanting company and sex, it’s that they believe they are entitled to it, and are outraged that it seems to be being withheld. This is a huge part of this dynamic — that women are essentially a commodity that is owed to them. That’s how we started having conversations about “redistributing” sex.

I don’t doubt what you say about the statistics of how Tinder pans out and agree that the rise of such sites means women are no longer home, sitting by the phone, waiting to be asked out. I do doubt that there is now a much larger pool of young men who have no way to meet and date women than there has been in the past. In the real world, 80% of women are not dating the “top” 20% of men. How do I know? Just look out the window……….
