I agree that it’s important to stand for what you believe in. It’s something that I do every day, but I also think that the polarization in this country isn’t going to be resolved by refusing to ever associate with someone who has different beliefs. I agree that Trump is a reprehensible person but I can’t in good conscience demonize everyone who voted for him, particularly since some of them are in my family and are my friends. The world is a very nuanced place and I don’t believe that breaking it down into binaries really serves the greater good.
