Ha, that may have something to do with it then, but I finally got to a point where I stopped trying to use my cognitive processes to assess everything. I used to worry, “What if it’s all bullshit — this kind of “woo-woo” stuff that I experience some times?” But I finally came to the conclusion, “So what if it is, then what?” Getting to that place helped a lot. I could tell my rational self to simmer down and just allow for whatever was there, and some pretty cool stuff came out of it…. and still does.

For the past 100,000 years, this was how humanoids perceived and made sense of their world. They used it to get guidance and to bring healing and to interface with the natural world around them. I’m not at all sure that us, as a species, moving away from the ability to do that is actually all that smart.
