From what I’ve learned in the past 1.5 years since understanding that there even was such a thing is that this person is not your literal other half, but that you somehow kind of “come from the same source.” The pull and the chemistry is incredibly strong, in part because there is that desire to kind of fuse back up, but also that you can acknowledge the strong feelings and then choose what to do with them. From what I’ve learned, it’s actually rather rare for TFs to be pair bonded. I haven’t seen Nat in person for over 2 years and we are not currently planning to try to see each other any time soon, but we are still deeply connected. I definitely had the very distinct call to go look for him, and he for me, although neither of us realized that’s what it was until much later.

It’s sure an interesting dynamic — never a dull moment for sure. Thanks for sharing about your experiences. I can imagine that having your love interest and your best friend be TFs would be challenging for sure! What compounds things even more for us is that I feel like Nat and James and I have all three been together before. I wrote a fictional story about that a while back, trying to kind of work with some of those feelings.

So nice to have someone to chat a bit about this. I don’t personally know anyone else with a TF!
