A wise woman once told me, “Have your emotions, but don’t let them have you.” In other words, feel everything that you are feeling to the fullest — one of the quickest ways to move through a tough emotion is to really feel it fully. But then also you don’t need to take up residence there or believe everything that you feel.
Emotions are information/a message from our deepest self to our more surface self. To ignore those messages is to become more and more dissociated from who you really are and what you actually want or need.
All the feels are important; but not all the feels are the be all-end all truth!
